3 Tricks that Increases Squeeze Page Conversions

If you want to increase conversions on your squeeze pages, than read this article. I have tested just about every trick in the book. Here are three tricks that I use that will increase squeeze page conversions. Oh and when I say “increase squeeze page conversions”, I am specifically talking about getting more people to subscribe with their email address, eg. opt in!

Three Tricks that Work
  • Understand Heat Maps! No company on earth has done more testing on where the eyes and clicks “flow” on a website than Google. Why? Because they earn money through Adsense ads and have done extensive research on the best places to place adsense ads. According to Google…“All other things being equal, ads located above the fold tend to perform better than those below the fold.” Look at this Heat Map diagram from Google* (the red writing is my own):
How can we apply this insider knowledge to making effective Squeeze Pages? Well, this is proof that keeping your offer and MDA (most desired action) “above the fold” is one of the BIG secrets behind a high converting squeeze page. This is in fact why our Speed Squeeze Pages Software builds squeeze pages that are, primarily, focused on showing “above the fold.” Here is the link to Google’s Adsense heatmap study – click here.
  • A Hook focused on a Specific, Credible Result. The Marketing Experiments website calls this a Value-Proposition. I have found that the more I reduce the hype and wild claims… and instead focus on just one or two hard-core RESULTS that I can offer someone, my conversion rate goes way up.People are “click happy when surfing the internet. Force your squeeze page to have one very specific “result” that can be obtained in a certain time frame. What is the hook for your squeeze page? What is one very specific result they can get in a certain time frame?eg. “How to Set Up a Membership Site in Under 6 Minutes With Completely Free Software!”"How to Build A Great Looking Squeeze Page in 3 Minutes!”

“How to Fix Your Tennis Serve in One Hour!”

  • Do NOT always use the word “FREE.” A few years ago, I would have argued to the death that the word “FREE” was the magic word of advertising. Today after lots of testing… well, I am not so sure. I am actually (currently) getting higher conversions on squeeze pages using other ways of saying free. For example, I have been getting good conversions instead saying…”Complimentary”
    “On the house”
    “No cost.”
    “Your cost? $0.00″

This really does work. I am not sure why/ Maybe because it sounds more believable and the guard to down when you say that something is “on the house” versus “FREE!” Trust me on this one and test it.

Your Potential Problems

There are two things people typically have trouble with applying these tips. The first problem is they think that they can’t make a squeeze page that is “above the fold.” Well that is why I created Speed Squeeze Software. With this product you can create an effective “above the fold” squeeze page in 3 minutes. Literally. The other problem is they think they will get worse results if they drop the hype.

My testing in the real world has proven time and again that if I can cut down the hype by 50% and replace it with tangible facts and specific results that someone can get, my conversions soar. Have faith that people aren’t as dumb as we’d all like to think. People love to buy but they hate to be sold.

Here Is a Good Solution

Give these three tips a try on your next Squeeze Page. If you think that it is too complicated too build terrific looking Squeeze Pages… well than you must watch my instructional video. You get an “over the shoulder view” of how I built a killer squeeze page in under 3 minutes. To watch it go here and optin…
